The TU Ilmenau campus is among the most beautiful campuses in Germany, according to a survey by UNICUM in 2009. And this is not only because of the fantastic view on the Thuringian forest. Modern research and teaching buildings in exclusive architecture, beautifully connected with Wilhelminian style, are giving the Ehrenberg its unique appearance. Named after the founding headmaster of the Hochschule für Elektrotechnik, Professor Hans Stamm, the Hans-Stamm-Campus is home to 5.800 students and a lively study surrounding with countless possibilities in culture, sports and leisure time.
The small campus downtown called Georg-Schmidt-Technikum is home to the venerable Wilheminian style building of the Thuringian Technikum, the new Faraday auditorium and a modern experimental lecture hall. Due to a new pedestrian and cyclist bridge built in 2010 the downtown campus and the Ehrenberg are in within reach of 15 minutes.
Experience your today’s university and follow the virtual campus sightseeing flight around the Ehrenberg.
